Apple TV+ Now Included With Chase Sapphire Preferred Card

What You Need to Know
- Chase Sapphire Preferred now includes complimentary one-year Apple TV+ subscription for cardholders.
- Existing Apple TV+ subscribers get automatic plan supersession for one year, then resume paid subscription.
- Apple One subscribers receive $7.50 monthly discount for 12 months instead of free access.
- Card’s annual hotel statement credit doubled to $100; 10% anniversary bonus discontinued.
Chase’s Sapphire Preferred card has quietly become a more interesting proposition for Apple subscribers, and the Apple TV angle buried in the announcement is more layered than the headline suggests.
The card’s new perks include a complimentary one-year Apple TV+ subscription, which normally runs $12.99 per month in the U.S. Cardholders must activate by December 31, 2026, and both new and existing cardholders are eligible starting now.
The more interesting detail is how Chase handles existing subscribers. If you already pay Apple directly for Apple TV+, the complimentary access automatically supersedes your paid plan for the year, then your paid subscription resumes at the going rate. Apple One subscribers get a different treatment: activating the benefit through Chase with the same Apple Account tied to your Apple One billing triggers a $7.50 monthly discount on Apple One for 12 months instead.
What else changed on the card
The Apple TV perk arrives alongside a broader refresh of the $95 annual fee card’s benefits:
- 3x points on gas, EV charging, Airbnb, and Vrbo bookings
- Annual hotel statement credit doubled to $100
- New $120 Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS credit every four years
- New emergency evacuation and transportation coverage
Not everything improved. The 10% anniversary bonus is being discontinued, and Ultimate Rewards points now transfer to World of Hyatt at a 4:3 ratio rather than 1:1.
For context, Chase’s higher-end Sapphire Reserve card already offered complimentary Apple TV+ alongside Apple Music, but that card carries a $795 annual fee. The Preferred card’s version of the perk is Apple TV+ only, which makes sense given the service costs the same $12.99 monthly whether you are watching a new thriller or catching up on older catalog titles on the Apple TV 4K hardware. New cardholders can also earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in the first three months.
