No new features are listed, and Apple has not announced any changes beyond the standard language around bug fixes, performance improvements, and security patches. For a point release this late in the cycle, that is exactly what you would expect.

The 26.6 beta cycle has followed a consistent pattern since it began, each build arriving without headline features and each focused on tightening what already exists. Beta 4 continues that thread. Developers enrolled in the program can pull the update through System Settings under Software Update, provided their Mac has sufficient storage and battery charge. Apple recommends a backup before installing any beta build.

What this beta is actually for

The practical purpose here is app compatibility testing before 26.6 reaches the public. Developers can run their software against the near-final build and catch anything that breaks before it affects end users. Beta 3 followed the same approach, and the cadence suggests Apple is converging on a stable release candidate.
