Nomad’s Tracking Card Pro Fits Wallets Where AirTag Cannot
What You Need to Know
- Stand One Qi2 charger delivers 25W to iPhone, 5W to AirPods, costs $135.
- Tracking Card Pro fits wallet slots at 2.5mm thick, lasts 16 months per charge.
- Third-party trackers cannot access Apple’s Ultra Wideband chip for Precision Finding feature.
- Cosmic Orange accessories match iPhone 17 Pro finish but offer no functional improvements.
Nomad’s two new Stellar Orange accessories are essentially color accessories, products designed to match the Cosmic Orange finish Apple introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro lineup. The Stand One charger and Tracking Card Pro were already available in other finishes; the orange versions add nothing functionally new.
The Stand One at $135 is a Qi2 charger that pushes up to 25W to a MagSafe iPhone, with a secondary 5W pad at the base for AirPods. It handles both portrait and landscape orientations for StandBy mode, ships with a braided USB-C cable, and requires a 40W adapter you supply yourself. The glass and metal build is the main justification for the price premium over cheaper Qi2 alternatives.
The $39 Tracking Card Pro is the more practically interesting product. At 2.5mm thick, it fits into a wallet slot where an AirTag cannot, and its battery runs up to 16 months on a single Qi charge. It connects to the Find My network and uses nearby Apple devices to report its location, covering the core use case for most people.
The ceiling third-party trackers hit
The card does not support Precision Finding, the close-range UWB feature that guides you to a tracker within a few feet. Apple has not opened its Ultra Wideband chip to third-party accessory makers, so no wallet tracker from any brand can match that capability. For a lost wallet two rooms away that limitation rarely matters, but it is a real gap compared to AirTag.
Color-matching accessories have a short window. Apple has used a signature Pro color as a pull for the current cycle, and with Dark Cherry already circulating as the rumored iPhone 18 Pro colorway for next fall, Cosmic Orange’s moment is already fading. Nomad is selling into that window now, which explains the timing, and the 18 Pro cycle shaping up to be hardware-dense will likely bring another round of matched colorways from the same accessory makers.
