VisionOS 27 Beta 3 Focuses on Stability, Skips New Features

Apple’s third developer beta for visionOS 27 is out, and the update brings almost nothing new for end users. Apple has not announced major user-facing changes for this build, describing it instead as focused on bug fixes, performance improvements, and developer testing.

That framing is consistent with how mid-cycle betas typically work. The same pattern appeared in macOS 27 beta 3, where stability work dominated over feature additions. For developers building spatial apps, that kind of quiet iteration is often more useful than headline features anyway.

What visionOS 27 Actually Gets

The features Apple is shipping in visionOS 27 as a whole are already established at this point:

• Siri AI support for more natural conversations
• Visual Intelligence features for Apple Vision Pro
• Enhanced object tracking for better spatial experiences
• New tools for developers building spatial apps and immersive content

What the beta cycle reveals, though, is how Apple is positioning Vision Pro relative to its other platforms. The visionOS 27 feature set is real but narrow, and the platform continues to receive a smaller share of Apple’s public attention than iPhone or Mac.

One area where that gap shows up directly is Siri. The new conversational Siri capabilities are part of visionOS 27, but availability has been uneven across regions and devices throughout this beta cycle. Vision Pro users testing the feature should expect inconsistency until the public release.

Apple has continued expanding immersive content and photo features for Vision Pro, which suggests the company still sees the headset as a showcase for spatial media even as the broader market waits for a clearer product direction. Developer beta 3 is available now through Settings, General, Software Update on any enrolled Vision Pro.
